The Covetess are a semi-aquatic species of humanoids. The Covetess were ruled byWrathia Bellarmina, but it is unknown whether Nevy Nervinewas put in place to govern them in her stead. It isalsounknown if the Covetesshaveyetbeen overtakenby TITAN's empire, but as their home was one of Wrathia's territories it is likely that they have. A number of what seem to be Covetess appear in Gil's Dream. Considering what Nevy states, the oceanic domains used to be ruled by the Covetess Prophets,[1]but it seems that Wrathia eventually took these domains. They believe in the Four Creators.
The name Covetess appears to be derived from the words "cove" and "covet," connecting to Nevy's aquatic theme and her associated sin, envy.
It is likely that Nevy was a Covetess of elite status. She is known to have been a high-ranking priestess, but it is unknown whether that title is also political.
In Gil's Dream, one of the scenes references the Bosch painting "The Garden of Earthly Delights," which depicts Biblical scenes of the earth's creation and humanity's damnation. In place of humans, the animation incorporates Covetess.
